What will you learn with us?
There's got to be a tutorial for everything on youtube? Right? But of you're new to photography, you simply don't know what you don't know, and what you actually need. But we do. Any photographer worth their salt masters these for key photography skills:

The camera know how
If you don't know what your camera is doing and how to make it do what you want to do, you're never going to get far. We cover this step by step so you really get to grips with YOUR camera and without overwhelm. Especially important for a parent photographer who wants sharp, bright photos of their toddler toddlerring and not a blurry mess.

Working with light
If you understand light, you can take a good photo with a calculator. If you don't, no amount of pricy camera gear will save you. We include working with light in both our Fundamentals and Advanced photography courses PLUS have dedicated courses on Natural Light and Shooting with Flash. Covering all bases because our family homes rarely have perfect light!

Photographic composition
We start with learning composition right at the beginning - in our Free Clickstarter course ( you can access it here) - because it's that important. We then continue with it in our other courses - with dedicated modules embeded in our core photography courses but also exploring it in our regular weekly camera club assignments.

Family Storytelling
Snaps show you what someone or something looked like. If you want more, you need to learn photographic storytelling. Family photography - the great kind - paints a full picture of your family life. It documents who the people were, what they loved and how they connected. I bang on about it EVERY SINGLE WEEK - in my feedback sessions, in my highlight sessions and in our tutorials.

I founded Photoparents ( originally known as Photography for Parents) 15 years ago and saw it grow from a humble small group course run in my local play-cafe to this vibrant online community of passionate parent learners who inspire me and one another daily. As a parent, I know how important capturing those childhood moments is and being able to teach people how to do this better is my great priviledge. I hope you'll join us!

All our courses are fully online. Live run courses have an instructor which advises and guides the students through online webinars and groups and provides feedback on their images.
Yes, absolutely. You can cancel the membership from one billing cycle to another. We cannot refund for unused time or courses and you will lose access to your membership plan after your subscription runs out.
No! Not at all! It is more economical for you to purchase the yearly version of the plan and there are additional annual subscribers perks but if you prefer to pay on a monthly basis, you can choose to stop your subscription from one month to another.
Yes! You get an introductory call / chat with us when you sign up to help you find your way and to personalise your learning plan (optional). Annual members also receive two 30 min coaching calls to help their progress. Additionally, you receive personal feedback on your images with our live run courses. If you need more, we can work out personalised mentoring plan. Please get in touch for details.
